Tinker
Table

Test your card game with your friends.

Test your game in
3 easy steps

  1. Upload your card art.

  2. Publish your game in one click.

  3. Play in Discord.

Does this sound familiar?

You have a great card game you're designing.
You have awesome friends who are willing to help with the playtest. But making it all happen is still an enormous challenge. Printing is slow and expensive and trying to get people together in one place at the same time in real life is worse than herding cats! And, to be honest, asking people to download Steam and then buy an additional $20 app is also a pretty steep barrier to entry.

Which is why we are making
Tinker Table - the quick, easy and free way to test your card game with your friends.

Launching Q3 2024

  • What is Tinker Table?
A tool for game designers to easily test their analog games. Designers can upload their game art to our website and instantly have access to their game inside a Discord Activity, making it super easy to test your game with friends. Tinker Table gives you a sandbox, a place to play with your friends, but is not a game system that enforces any rules. Just like real life, at least one of the players needs to understand and explain the rules.
  • What is a Discord Activity?
It’s basically an app that exists inside Discord. It’s a new(ish) feature on Discord that makes playing games with your friends really easy. You and your friends will be on a voice/video call showing your game on the digital table they’re gathered around.
  • When is Tinker Table launching?
Our Private Beta goes live in October 2024. Want to get on the allow list for the private beta? Join our Discord and ask for Keo. See what happens.
  • Can there be any pieces or just cards for games built with this? (Tokens? Game Boards? Player Mats? Rules reference?)
Definitely. We’re starting with cards because they’re so flexible, but everything you can imagine (and more?!) is coming soon.
  • Will these games have rules enforcement or just provide a sandbox environment?
Tinker Table is a sandbox - you’ll get the game pieces you need, but the rules (and the fun!) are up to you. We believe that just like in real life, part of the pleasure of games is learning and exploring the rules together. Sometimes it’s nice to have easy access to a calculator for some hard math (coming soon - don’t worry) but Tinker Table is trying to create a social space where interhuman activities like teaching rules and exploring edge cases are encouraged as a healthy part of play. All that being said, with Tinker Table you can link a url to either a written, or video version of your game rules.
  • Will game builders be able to include scripts in their game setups to automate tasks like dealing and cleanup?
There’s a long list of features we think we need to add. We’re looking forward to working with our community to prioritize these. Have something specific you think we should add? Email our CEO (Mack at murky.tech) or join our Discord and chat with our team.
  • How much does Tinker Table cost?
It’s free! There will always be a free tier to upload and play your game with friends. There will eventually be optional paid features. If you have feedback on what we should build or where we should charge, we’d love to hear from you.
  • Will there be ad placements?
Only if we can show ads you care about. This will be a nice tool, a nice place and a nice community, not a place to shill.
  • Who owns my game IP?
You own everything. The art, the rules, everything is obviously and entirely yours. You can read the fine print in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service but the TL;DR is we’re trying to be good actors. OF COURSE, it’s your game. You will have control over who can access your game, with options for selective sharing to prevent unauthorized distribution. We support DMCA takedown processes to swiftly remove infringing content and provide clear guidelines to ensure users respect IP rights. To report a concern with content you find on Tinker Table please contact our Community team in Discord or through email (Mack at murky.tech) Regular audits will ensure that all content complies with our IP protection policies, creating a secure environment that respects and safeguards creators' work
  • Will there be a marketplace where the IP owners of games built with Tinker Table will be able to sell access?
Maybe. But that's somewhere in the future. Our laser focus today is creating the best card game prototyping tool in the world.
